Create Your Late Pregnancy “Birth Bubble”

Dear pregnant mom- are you in your third trimester and feeling all the feelings about your upcoming birth?!

I know how it is. You may be feeling excited, anxious, fearful, and a whole lot of every other emotion too!

In this blog post I share exactly what I suggest doing in those last few weeks of pregnancy- including mindset hacks, things to avoid, and things to do everyday!

These are things that I specifically focused on during my fourth babys pregnancy- and I went on to give birth to her without ONE fearful, negative, or discouraging thought during my unmedicated labor and birth.

Check it out below and see what feels right for you in those final weeks!

Also- if you are planning an unmedicated birth- hopefully you already have my comprehensive birth course! Inside I will take you by the hand and show you exactly (step by step) what you need to know and what you need to do to prepare.

The Third Trimester Mindset: Preparing for an Unmedicated Birth with Trust and Intuition

As you approach the final weeks of pregnancy, you want shift your focus away from doing and lean into simply feeling. This is especially important if you are planning a natural birth. These last weeks are not about cramming in more knowledge, finalizing every logistical detail, or obsessing over each point on your birth plan. Instead, they are about trusting, surrendering, and creating space for the intuitive wisdom within you to surface as you prepare for your unmedicated birth. This is going to look different for everyone! For me- I deleted all social media, avoided most social gatherings, and focused on pouring into my little family while connecting with my baby and my body. This was so powerful for me especially as I gave birth several weeks after I expected I would.

Embracing Stillness and Nature

One of the best ways to cultivate this mindset is by spending time outside. Nature has a way of quieting the noise of the external world, allowing you to tap into a deep sense of presence. When you step outside—whether to the beach, a park, or your backyard—you’ll find that your fears and anxieties about your natural birth fade into the background. Even if you live somewhere cold and it’s the dead of winter- going outside each day will do wonders. The physical and mental discomforts of pregnancy will fade away when you immerse yourself in stillness. It’s the best type of prenatal care!

You might even want to focus on your own breath or heartbeat. Let that rhythm ground you, reminding you to stay present in your body. That presence is what will guide you not only through the last weeks- but when you eventually give birth. These simple practices will allow you to more fully surrender to the process of bringing your baby into the world in the way you are dreaming to.

Creating Your Birth Bubble

As you move through your third trimester, be intentional about what you allow into your mind. This is the time to create a “birth bubble” filled with positivity, intuition, and trust. Your birth bubble should contain things that make you feel empowered and at peace, such as:

  • Meditation

  • Visualization

  • Affirmations

  • Positive natural birth stories and videos

  • Books that uplift and inspire you about unmedicated birth

  • Bonding with your baby

  • Nesting and preparing your space with love

  • Feeling excitement for birth and meeting your baby

At the same time, be mindful of what you choose to keep out of your birth bubble. This might include:

  • Traumatic birth stories

  • Unsolicited birth advice

  • Negative thoughts and fears

  • Medical interventions like cervical checks and ultrasounds

  • Conversations about induction or interventions that do not align with your unmedicated birth preferences

Advocating for yourself is important to do now. If someone tries to share a difficult birth story that you don’t want to hear, kindly redirect the conversation or say, “I’m protecting my thoughts surrounding birth. I’d love to hear your story after my baby is born instead. Thanks for understanding!” Practicing this now will make it easier if you need to advocate for yourself during your natural birth.

Trusting That You Already Have Everything You Need

It’s easy to feel pressure to absorb as much information as possible, to complete every last task, and to prepare down to the smallest detail. But here’s the truth: you already have everything you need to have an unmedicated birth. You don’t need more stuff. You don’t even need more knowledge. What you need is trust and surrender.

We cannot think our way into an intuitive, connected birth experience. Instead, we must create stillness and space to allow our inner selves to guide us. This means giving yourself permission to step away from birth books and videos if they are no longer serving you. It means recognizing that your body and baby already know what to do for a natural birth.

And most importantly, it means letting go of control. Trust yourself enough to release the need to control every detail. Your body, your baby, and your intuition will lead the way through your unmedicated birth if you let them.

The Final Weeks: Feel More, Think Less

As these last weeks unfold, simplify your birth preparation. Spend time in nature. Be present with your thoughts, your body, and your baby. Quiet the outside noise and turn inward more than you ever have before. Feel more, think less. Trust yourself, surrender, and know that you are ready for the natural birth you’ve been dreaming of. I’m rooting for you!
